Training at the White Crane martial arts school in Kamloops combines the traditional knowledge of the Pak Hok Pai (White Crane System) with the advantages of modern training equipment and techniques.
The White Crane system is a complex traditional martial art, utilizing punching, kicking, kneeing, elbowing, joint locks, takedowns, throwing, and grappling as tools for effective self defence. As students advance, they develop their skills, and physical vitality, using traditional tools such as bean boxes, rice bags, and earbox weights, as well as using modern tools such as throwing dummies, water core punching bags, medicine balls, and focus mitts. Students also learn the forms, weapons, and traditional health practices associated with this ancient style. Sparring and self defence practice ensures that students can apply their self defence skills in “real life” situations, while using the best in safety equipment and training practice to minimize injury.
For those interested in developing their fighting skills only, our kickboxing program provides a rigorous and technically excellent environment, well preparing its participants for self defence or competition. Kickboxing students promote their health and develop their abilities using the same program that has lead to overwhelming competitive success, producing two world kickboxing champions, six internationally ranked competitors, and many Canadian and international titleholders.
Regardless of the program students choose, our commitment to excellence in training practice and instruction, the use of the best available equipment and methods, and our guarantee of small class sizes ensures that we meet our goal of providing the best opportunities for our students to develop their self confidence, health, and self defence abilities.
